Who controls the information

The pest-control company that creates a PestTap workspace normally decides why and how its customer, site, technician and service records are used. It is the controller for that operational information, and PestTap acts as its service provider. PestTap is responsible for account administration, platform security, support and its own commercial records.

Information processed

• Account names, work email addresses, roles and authentication records.
• Customer contacts, service addresses, contracts, scheduled visits and access notes.
• Risk assessments, equipment registers, photographs, signatures, product-use records, reports, recommendations, quotations and customer-portal activity.
• Technical security logs and device-held offline drafts needed to operate and protect the service.

Why it is used

Information is used to provide the requested service, keep accurate pest-management records, give authorised users access, protect accounts, troubleshoot problems and meet legal obligations. A pest-control company must have its own lawful basis for adding customer and employee information.

Sharing, retention and security

Records are available only to authorised workspace users and customer users assigned to the relevant account. Specialist infrastructure providers may process information to operate PestTap. Records are retained for the workspace while required by the customer and applicable obligations; archived history is preserved so signed service evidence is not silently rewritten.

PestTap uses account authentication, role-based access, workspace separation and protected file links. No online service can promise absolute security, so users must protect passwords and remove access promptly when somebody leaves.

Your choices and rights

For a record entered by a pest-control company, contact that company first to request access, correction, restriction, deletion or export. For PestTap account or privacy questions, contact support@pesttap.co.uk. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office where applicable.
